Dress Purple Day also includes teachers and educators, who are in a unique position because they interact with kids every day. Diamond said the society has staff and resources available to help educators who are concerned about the well-being of a child or family.
“There are prevention resources available specifically for teachers and educators to support them in engaging in conversations with students about their rights to safety and well-being. These resources include information for educators about their duty to report, and how to respond to a child who makes a disclosure,” said Giselle Lutfallah, director of service for the Children’s Aid Society Oxford.
